    Can we create an excel report with Odata feed connection which includes project site custom list data?

    Example: My Project is "ProjectTest" and it has a project site in which i created a custom list "ProjectNotes" with some new columns. I want to include these columns in my report.

    Is it possible to create enterprise custom field that will be available for only 2-3 projects?

    CustomFieldRowDoesNotMatchCorrespondingDefinitionInDB still appears when updating some project details, and there is no clear logging information as to what field don't match.

    MSFT added a fix to JULY 2016 CU (,-2016)

    But i have updated up until November 2016, and still issue is not resolved.

    I'm wondering if there is a workaround to this, aside forcing the update from Project Pro Client ?

    We have few Status Managers who have made rules in Approval center of PWA to auto approve and publish all approvals.

    Still some of the approvals doesn't go through.

    Initially we suspected, this could be because of timesheets submitted through delegate access. However, later we confirmed this is not the case.

    What can be the reason of few tasks not getting approved automatically?

    I previously had something similar with the user profile service and noticed the ProfileService.svc file was missing, so I simply copied it from my dev server. 

    Unfortunately this time I dont seem to have PsiExtension.svc on my Dev server. 

    Is anyone able to check their project server to see if they have it

    Hi Team,

    Is there any way/option to update the project schedule directly(without checkout/publish the plan) with actual work once the task/timesheet has approved by the approver.

    I want to fix the Finish date of a task to which resources are assigned. The problem being experienced is that if a resource assigned to the task does not use all of the Work assigned for a particular day the system moves any Remaining Work onto the next day or even week/year, which can increase the Duration of the task beyond the original planned Finish. This extension of the task’s Duration then rolls-up to task zero and gives a false Finish date for the project in Project Center.

    As a rule, project tasks are Fixed Duration and not Effort Driven.

    Changing the task Constraint Type to either Finish No Later Than or Must Finish On does not, on a task to which resource are logging effort, ‘lock’ the finish date.

    Can anyone please offer a solution to ‘locking’ the Finish date for a resourced task? Thank you in anticipation! :)

    I want to add another drop-down value to a field...within a list...within our existing project site template.

    It's been so long since I originally configured this, I need help.  How do I do this to our existing site template, so that this added value appears in all existing created project workspaces(sites)?

    I would like to see a different resource standard rate by project. I'm well aware of using the cost rate table (A-B-C-D-E) as a workaround but it's not working for me as I will have more than 5 rates at the same time. A workaround I found  is to set as many resources as project. I will only set the same default Assignement owner in the resource center so the timesheet or task actual updates will be effortless for my resources.

    Drawback : I do have now too many resources in my capacity planning and cannot figure out a way to group them.

    Any suggestions ?

    I have a very basic surface knowledge of Project and PWA, so if I do not use technical terms, I apologize.

    The issue I am currently having is that one (or at least one) of my resource's Actual work is not reflecting correctly after her timesheet tasks have been approved.

    We do not use Project for "beginning to end" projects. We use it majority for ongoing projects, like day to day tasks for the year. Our process is as follows: The resource fills out the timesheet and submits on Friday. I approve all tasks/timesheets on Monday (given there is sufficient remaining work). Wednesday, I update all the remaining work for the next week. I estimate how much is needed by copying the actual work column and comparing it to the previous week.

    That being said, one of the resources filled out her timesheet, submitted it, and I approved it. The Actual work is still reflecting from the week prior, in both PWA and Project. I checked the queue, and the status updates history, which the tasks are not even there. I have no idea how to resolve this issue. Does anyone have any insight?

    We user Project Online and Project Pro 2016.

    Our UK team has let me know that they have a 37.5 work week.  Currently the UK Calendar has the UK holidays with a 40 hour week. I have made the change in TEST.  I have also changed the Working Schedule of the project template to match the UK 37.5 hours in the Calendar.  So now if the UK plans a task for 5 days, then the hours assigned are 37.5 for the task.  This is all fine and good for UKrs, but India resources also work on UK projects and have a 40 hour week.

    Given this fact the question arose whether UK projects should be based on a UK calendar with 40 or 37.5 hour week for task planning? And then, based on who is assigned the task the duration will be revised based on that resource's holiday calendar and work week ... 37.5 or 40.0. 

    I need some guidance.

    In resource time sheets,when Insert Task option is selected,all the projects are listed in. Is it possible to show only active projects on the drop down list of projects?

    How to restrict Time sheets to be should be restricted from submitting unless a custom field for e.g. "Ticket Number"  is not populated on the Manager’s plans? One Approach is we can set that field as mandatory but this will affect all views and become a required field for all cases, hence doesn't fulfills requirement. Please suggest an approach, if any.

    i cannot edit or add new calendar in Project Web App , when i try this error message appear :

    You need to have Microsoft Project Professional 2013  installed and configured to connect to a profile for this Project Web App site. You can do so by opening Project Professional, and adding the URL of a site in your PWA site collection to the Manage Accounts dialog in the Info tab of the File menu. Then, close Project Professional, and open it connected to this profile before trying this operation again. 

    If Project Professional is already loaded, ensure that it is connected to the profile for this Project Web App site and that there are no dialog boxes open.

    some people tell me to disable " Protected Mode " in ie , but the problem still exist .

    Hello people , 

    Im using Project Web App through Office 365 and linked to MS project Professional but I cant seem to find out where I can amend or add details about my project in the page set up for printing .pdfs etc from PWA directly. 

    I have set up a baseline gantchart view and would like to create some .pdfs with all the info in the footer info.

    I hope Im making myself clear

    We've had a lot of reports for timesheet users that they have tasks missing from their timesheets. We've checked that the start and finish date within the project is set correctly (publishing afterwards) and if the task has been locked but neither has turned up any results.

    This is happening on multiple projects where they have reoccurring tasks. Tasks for Q4 Start at 01/09/16 - 21/12/16, then the same tasks repeat for Q1 with start and finish dates of 01/01/17 - 01/03/17 (example dates used).  Q4 and Q1 represent a summary of multiple tasks.

    We've run out of ideas and our users are concerned that their time sheets aren't getting filled in correctly.

    In the Project Center (my environment has thousands of projects), I have users who rely heavily on the drop down for custom filters. Often times they are filtering on several different owners maybe 20+, so it is time consuming to set up. From time to time, it seems random, these filters will get erased or deleted and the user has to go back in set up their filters all over again. 

    Does anyone know why this happens? Is there an action that would trigger this? Were these filters intended to stick as long as you want or is there a time limit? Is there anything I can tell users to do to keep these filters as long as they want?
