How is it possible to change a project prioritization after you've done a first scenario in a portfolio analysis?
I get this error:
The project impact values could not be saved because of the following reasons:
•The analysis could not be edited because it contains portfolio selection scenarios
Or is this something that isn't possible by design?

I want to make a program that will be a quiz that has 30 questions in total, but every time a user wants to play, it will show 10 random questions of those 30. As answers, there are two cases, in one the user has to fill a blank textbox and in other the user has to pick one of four radio buttons. I have worked with Visual Studio (VB NET language) before and I searched and tried to make it on my own, but haven't found the solution. Since I am little more advanced than a begginer I will need more detailed steps how to work with database/datasets (which has the questions and answers) and random. The project is meant to be as a offline windows application.
If someone can help it would mean a lot.

I've asked this question already, but think I may have done a bad job at explaining the issue. The issue is that I ran a resource capacity report in PWA (2013). I saw a significant spike for one resources hours and that spike put them well over capacity for a few months.
Looking at the detailed hours, I saw one project that stood out. I opened that project in Project Pro (2016) and found that the high hours were driven by a task that was already marked as complete (100%) and had the check mark to validate the 100% status.
A few things to note:
1. Although we use non-effort driven, fixed duration for our current projects, this particular task looked to be fixed work.
2. This task started in 2015, but had an end date of 2017 (still 100% complete though).
3. There were 3 resources on this task. One that is not here anymore, and one that must have been added after the fact (he didn't start until 2016).
Any thoughts on why this would happen would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Kerry

I previously had something similar with the user profile service and noticed the ProfileService.svc file was missing, so I simply copied it from my dev server.
Unfortunately this time I dont seem to have PsiExtension.svc on my Dev server.
Is anyone able to check their project server to see if they have it
it should be at;
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\15.0\WebServices\Shared\ProjectServer\PSI\PsiExtension.svc"

I have installed SharePoint 2013 with SQL Server 2014 and almost 10 web applications were created and working fine. Know I got a requirement to install Project Server 2013 on existing SharePoint Dev (Standalone) and Prod(App Server and SQL Server) environment. For project server "Configuration of Analysis Services" is mandatory.
I have already installed SQL Server 2014 for SharePoint, I am trying to install additional feature "Analysis Services" but stuck at "Instance Configuration" which Instance to select (Default or Tabular).
Up on selecting "Default" instance it gives error "Instance Name "MSSQLSERVER" already in use. To continue specify unique instance name"

Can someone tell me how the project server and hte PWA site syncronize from the AD.
I have a user who can't see the project despite of given the rights in ad group. (I'm not the one who created it, I'm just the support guy who give access to everybody :) )
Did a sync manually in the PWA server settings (ad resource sync). but i sure it is not what i looking for because it's default sync time is 1 day.
There is an another settings where the Project sharepoint site sync with the projects (projectsites), but it didn't work.
So right now i have absolutely no idea how can a user access to a project based on ad group and how to fix it if it isn't working.
So what i know:
There is an AD group that give access to the Project center. It is clear.
There are several AD group that give access to the project sharepoint site.
What i don't:
Giving access to the sharepoint site should give access to the project as well. But how?

I have come across a trickiest (atleast for me) problem, it will be of help, if you can suggest something.. TIA. I am an admin for a PWA sayhttp://servername/sites/PWA. But a requirement came to me, for changing the URL. I extended the web application with a different Host Header on the same port. A new IIS site did get created and also Alternate Access Mapping did get updated.
I checked the PWA with new url which was something likehttp://xyz.customername.co.in/sites/PWA , and yes it was indeed working. It was all good, when suddenly a Project Manager bring to my notice that MSP is unable to connect to the new URL, and its happening with all the users.
The error is as follows:

All,
Can the 'project manager (project web app sync)' group permissions be modified? Everytime I try and modify the permissions of this group at the root PWA level, they revert back to a default set of permissions almost instantly.
Background is that I'm trying to remove the following permissions from PMs...I mean why on earth would you want them messing about the pages in the first place! AmIright?! :)
-Add and Customize Pages - Add, change, or delete HTML pages or Web Part Pages, and edit the Web site using a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible editor.
-Apply Themes and Borders - Apply a theme or borders to the entire Web site.
-Apply Style Sheets - Apply a style sheet (.CSS file) to the Web site.
Is this is possible, how do you do it?

I have a new project file with link to a resource pool file where all the resources are defined with 100% availability.
I created new task with 3 day duration and assigned one of the resource from the pool.
I opened the Task Information and under the resources tab I updated the resource availability for the task with 50% (Units).
then I set start date and was expected the end date will be after 6 days!
But it was calculated to 3 days only!!!
any help on how to assign the resource with partial availability to a task with impact on the start\ end dates?

Can we create such reports in project server 2013? Where database stores the non working time of resources.

So I naturally try to use a Sharepoint website.
The problem is when the project is huge, I have a problem to save it and the synchronization with Sharepoint fall.
And after, I become unable to open this work on Project .... I have to delete all and create a new file ...

I am trying to understand exactly how SEM works in EPM 2010. As I understand it, resources can enter their time in the Tasks area and upon saving or submitting it the data is automatically prepopulated into a corresponding Timesheet. The hours are then entered into the work plans.
My question is: what hapens to the timesheet? Does the resource have to go into the Timesheet and submit it? Also, if I update my time in the Timesheets, when I submit them, does it also automatically submit the Task update as well (I know it updates and saves the Task data)?
Hopefully this is an easy question but my concern is that if resources still have to go to 2 links to submit their time what is the point of SEM? It seem like it only removes 1-click from the process. My goal is to be able to lock time so resources can't update after we've invoiced and this has been a huge headache in EPM 2007 for me. This was great in 2003--1 link to enter time that went to the work plans that could be locked.
I would like to be able to have my resources enter their time in Tasks or Timesheets (I don't care which one) and have the entries flow to the work plans and be able to lock them out after a certain time period (essentially replicate 2003 functionality).
I've read a lot and probably confused myself a lot too. I'm just not seeing how this all fits together...

We have initially set Project Site to be created when Project is Published. Now it is set to "Do not create create site" from configuration.
Now I want to delete all project Sites and hide link from Projects in PWA. How to achieve these?

I am working on Project Server 2013 (April 2016 CU).
I am trying to edit a Resource Plan so I open a project plan in PWA and go to "Resource Plan" (in Edit mode). I click on Build Team so that I can add a few resources to it. After adding the resources I click on "Save & Close" and I get a popup stating that the "project is no longer checked out to you".
Looking at Server Settings, I see that the project is checked out to me so the message box is wrong. I was trying to edit in Project Pro but I do not see a place to check the Resource Plan (PP 2013 Enterprise).
Has anyone seen/fixed something similar?

I have a problem where a user has accepted status updates and then when the user went to the History > Status Updates page to publish the updates the page displayed with the following error:

When I tried to Save&Build the Build Team for Resource Plan it gave error "The Project is no longer checked out to you". I checked in PWA Settings-> Force Checkin Enterprise Object, the resource plan/Project were Checked out to one user. I forced checked it in there. But still I am getting same issue when I try to Save&Close Build Team for Resource Plan.
