Could anyone please let me know if you have used Project Server as a repository for requirements. We have been using Project Server from past few months for project & resource management and also for maintaining project documentation. We now want to use it manage our requirements backlog too.

Is there a way to Checkin Resource Plan without going to settings and then doing Force Checkin?
When I click on Close button in Resource Plan, it do not checkin the Resource Plan.

I can confirm that the schedules have not been subsequently updated manually to enter different hours.
In a current example, the planned hours are based on 40% units for a 40hr week which spreads the hours as 3.2 hrs per day (16 hrs per week). The user actually works 2 full days per week (eg 8hr on two separate days - although the actual days varies from week to week). He enters these hours in the timesheet (does not enter 0 hrs for the days he doesn't work), however once the Status Update is approved, in some weeks, one or two of the other days have the 3.2hrs recorded as actual hours.
This does not happen every week and is not consistent regarding which days the incorrect hours appear. Has anyone ever seen this behaviour and if so, do you know how to resolve it?
This is not an isolated incident and I am losing faith in relying on the schedule for the actual costs that are driven from this data.

It might be a silly question to ask but just wondering how to add comments in resource assignments view for a task?
Or do we need to add this somewhere else? Tried adding the comments from Task window by using option "Comment on Submit" but still no luck.
Can anyone please help on this?

I am using Project server 2013 SP1 On-Prim. I have 2 custom fields one task and one project. both are formula field as mentioned below.
When updating and publishing from MSP client, project field value is coming properly in Project Centre. But when updating schedule using PWA browser, schedule gets updated and published and i can see the updated value in Schedule fields but project field in project centre is not showing updated value as it should be as per the formula. If i publish the same from MSP client, it will update the project field value properly and now can see updated value in project centre.

I have migrated Project server from 2010 to 2016 which has three servers architecture (Web Font end, application and database server). Now I am verifying all OLAP cube and other excel reports in browser but these all reports are throwing below error.

As per ULS log, I configured “Distributed cache” service multiple times in application server but it is always showing in disabled mode. Can anyone help me to resolve this issue?

There is a requirement cropped from my client, I am not sure how to resolve it. I have a people picker custom field at my Project PDP which is filled by my Project Manager (PM) and Project Approver (PA) name is provided here, while creating the project.
Now the requirement is that whenever Project Manager uploads any document in the project site of that project, the document should go to the PA for the document approval. How can it be performed using 'HTTP service' in SharePoint designer.
Apart, is there any other alternate way to perform this?

Hi guys,
I'm seeing some very strange behaviour for what seems to be one particular tasks with one project. in Project Server 2010.
The PM assigns a resource to that task and then publishes the project. Publish works fine and the project is checked-in.
The resource then cannot see that tasks in their Timehseet (we use SEM), but I've logged on as that user and cannot see that tasks with the My Tasks either.
Thing is, if I go to the Resource Center I can see an assignement for that task and that resource, with the resource being set as the assignment owner. The Default Assignment owner for that resource is set to the same. The resource is set as commited for Booking Type.
Not sure where else to look.
Any help appreciated.

I want to exercise Disaster Recovery(DR) for Project server 2010. My current environment contains 6 VMs. The condition is that if all the VMs (having names for example VM1,VM2,VM3,VM4,VM5,VM6) is not working and I have to make my application working using 6 different VMs having names for example VM10,VM11,VM12,VM13,VM14,VM15. How to get this DR implemented.

I am new to Project Server and I need help understanding how to accomplish this task: I want tasks assigned to generic resources to show up in the task list of the related people managers. This way the people managers will be able to re-assign the task to a named resource. How do I accomplish this? I tried assigning the people managers as the assignment owners at the task level for each generic resource assignment, but this didn't work either. Do I need to use RBS?
This seems like it should be easy to accomplish!

We've had a lot of reports for timesheet users that they have tasks missing from their timesheets. We've checked that the start and finish date within the project is set correctly (publishing afterwards) and if the task has been locked but neither has turned up any results.
This is happening on multiple projects where they have reoccurring tasks. Tasks for Q4 Start at 01/09/16 - 21/12/16, then the same tasks repeat for Q1 with start and finish dates of 01/01/17 - 01/03/17 (example dates used). Q4 and Q1 represent a summary of multiple tasks.
We've run out of ideas and our users are concerned that their time sheets aren't getting filled in correctly.
