  I have Project Server 2010 with SP2.  For the last few weeks, the Admin tasks have not appeared on my timesheet.  I can manually add them via Add Line, but that must be done every week. If I manually create a new timesheet from Manage Timesheets I get the error message: "The timesheet creation failed, because of a problem with the project server or with data validations, such as resources or users.  Check your environment, and then try again."  The tiomesheet gets created w/o the Admin tasks.  If I try to delete a timesheet with missing tasks, I get a longer error reported in my Manage queues:

Hi,

I had a few jobs fail earlier, but succeeded later.

However the error messages remain in the "Manage Queue Jobs" page.

Even when I set the check boxes, the "Cancel Jobs" button is disabled.

How can I clear the list? Will this list grow infinitely (I hope not)?

Hi,

I have SharePoint 2013 and Project Server 2013. 

For cumulative updates, I just have to apply PS2013's cumulative update right? Or do I need to install SP2013's as well?

What is the proper procedure to install the updates?

• Do I need to shutdown services first?
• What services?
• In what order?
• I'm assuming SQL Server is kept running.

Hi,

There doesn't seem to be a way to revert a checked-out project (which has had changes made to it) to a state right before it was checked-out.

In other words I'd like to discard the check-out.

Is there a way to do that?

Scenario: 

2 Sites - 4 DC (2 DC in each Site) 

all DC gustavo.com

what i need : 2 DNS non recursive (will be my DNS out of the WORLD) 

                    2 DNS recursive from internal company but they need be hide from the world 

i know that the best option is add a linux DNS but is not possible, i need to do this with the 4 DC's

Hi,

we are running Project Server 2013 and TFS 2012 und the synchronization.

In TFS, the scrum template is used. In our mapping for Remaining Work, on conflict is set to PSWin.

For time tracking, we are using “Project Server My Tasks”. This is done via an automatic interface to our time tracking system.

In case that only Product Backlog Items are mapped (and not Tasks), we encounter the following problem:

The Project Manager inserts a Product Backlog Item in the Project Plan, assigns it to the Development Manager and sets Remaining Work to 60 hrs.

The Product Backlog Item is mapped to TFS.

The Development Manager splits the PBI into two tasks and sets Remaining Work to 40 hrs on each task.

80hrs are mapped back to the Project Plan as the (Remaining) Work or the PBI.

The Project Manager sets the baseline and the Development can start.

The Developer inserts Actual Work into “My Tasks”.

In the Project Plan, Actual Work, Work and Remaining Work are updated accordingly:

In the Project Backlog Item, Remaining Work is set to the correct value of 24 hours (Mapped Fields (Project Plan)).

But in the Task, the originally set remaining work is unchanged.

Thus the sum of Remaining Work on the Tasks differs from the Remaining Work on the PBI.

How can we solve this issue? Do we need changes in our business process or in the mapping? Any help is highly appreciated.

When linking documents to tasks as related items I notice that the icon won't show up in the Gantt view, however it does with issues and risk. Do you know why?

I have some schedules that are pulling the start date of the preceeding activity.  Below are screen shots.

MS Project 2010 dates.

PWA dates

As you can see, PWA dates are pulling from its predecessor of Pre-Job meeting.  Logic is fs +15.  Pre-Job is As Late As Possible (which I believe is the issue).

I have 6000 schedules in the database and do not want to change the logic to fix what appears to be a possible bug?  I can fix it in PWA by saving and publishing the schedule in MSP and then going to PWA, but it reverts back overnight to the Pre-Job start date.  Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

15.0.4693.1000 and 15.0.4701.1000 resp.

We've found and been able to reproduce the following issue:

• Create a plan in Project Pro with a simple WBS containing a few summary tasks having one or several sub tasks each.
• Collapse one or several of the summary tasks - rolling up the sub tasks.
• Save and Publish and check in the plan.

Switch over to the web interface and look at the published plan - everything looks fine.

Open the plan for editing in the web interface.

Now all collapsed tasks are gone and the summary tasks cannot be expanded - indeed, there's not even an 'expand' arrow available and trying the Outline/Expand ribbon button doesn't help.

Our problem is that we have different people preparing the plans, using the full-blown client, and other doing simpler work using the web interface only. One particular step in the preparation of the plan is to perform a number of operations on summary tasks only, thus naturally using the collapsed tasks state for this work and then publishing directly after that.

Setting a SQL trace reveals that all the tasks are retrieved from the database, meaning that the issue is introduced on the application server side of things.

I would appreciate if anyone with a workaround - apart from "don't collapse tasks before publishing" - has anything to add.

Hello,

I am unable to save the look up table created in msps 2010.

Code preview value has the value '*'

The values in the look up table are : HR; IT, FINANCE

While saving the look up table; the error message given is

"One or more code values in the lookup table either do not match the mask defined for the code or contain more than 255 characters.

Kindly help.

We are current;y running Project Server 2013 on Premise and using timesheets to update task status. We are using the proactive task scheduling to let the allocations, work and dependencies drive the schedule to get accurate project finish dates.

We have several projects that give an error stating "Change would modify work entered by a team member" and "We can't make that change because Project Web App is set to only allow actual work to be entered by a team member through Timesheets or My Work" when setting the status date and Updating the Project and selecting reschedule Uncompleted Work to start after the status date. We have determined that usually it is only a single task causing the error. we have tried to remove the resource when no actuals have been entered but we get the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello All,

One of my PMs created a new project, but the project in MS Project did not match the project in Project Server 2010, specifically the Work, Start/Finish Dates, and Remaining Work hours.  [We need to back-out hours charged to an existing project from last week and apply them to this project.]  I couldn't figure out the problem, so I re-created the project using File/Save As and over-wrote the new project my PM created.  I deleted everything in the file and re-created the tasks, assigned the Resources, Saved, Baselined, and Published the project.  Now the Start/Finish dates in the MS Project match the Project Center data on the PWA Page, but the Work and Remaining Work hours do not match. 

I deleted the new project, including the Project Site.  I started from our template and created a whole new project with a slightly different file name.  Same problem, Work and Remaining work do not match between MS Project and PWA.  I moved the hours from the existing project and put them on the new project, and now even the Actual Work hours do not match.  

Any ideas what is causing this mismatch?

Hello All,

Environment : Project Server 2013

Wanted to configure all the Risks and Issues to open in a Dialog Box. Managed to enable the same in the Advanced Settings (Launch forms in a dialog).

But when i save the same site as a template, the Dialog box setting is being reverted back to No and the Risks and Issues for any new project created are opening in a full page.

Any thoughts on this !!

Project Server 2010

The current owner of the Active Directory Resource Pool Synchronization job is no longer active in Project Server which has caused some issues. I am the new Admin over the system and thought if I ran the job manually it would reassign the ownership of the task to me. Since the job runs under the credentials of the owner, we're getting some errors.

Let me know if any more information would be helpful!

Recently we are having some problem with timesheet view failure happening for a no. of resources.

The logs shoot the following error:

Error is: GeneralUnhandledException. Details: General Unhandled Exception in _TimeSheet.GetTimesheetForGridJsonFromViewUid_ Attributes:  System.InvalidOperationException: GetDataForAssignment: Did not find data for assignment. ProjUid=************* AssnUid=*******************

In some cases, republishing the Project resolves the issues but this is happening over and again.

Any help greatly appreciated.
