    I have create visual web part and use Ajax control in my solution.The Ajax Control working fine,Whenever I am trying with Administrator Users and but when i work with Non administrators user it is not working.I have already give the permission to users on web application level and give full control.

    Hi,

    I was having a Windows Server 2003 system and was running an MFC application (desktop client). Through my application I was creating an AT job under C:\Windows\Tasks using Microsoft job scheduling functionNetScheduleJobAdd. In Windows 2003, the job (below screen) was by default set to be deleted after execution in case it is not scheduled to run again.



    Now when I am running my application in Windows 2008 R2, I observed a major difference in the job created byNetScheduleJobAdd function. The option to delete the job is not set in 2008 and due to this problem my application is not deleting any jobs. Please refer below screen.



    Even when I try to enable it manually, I had to change the job type to Windows Server 2008 from AT Service and also I had to set an expiration date deliberately.

    Can someone please help and guide how can I achieve this from the application itself. Is there any way we can change options of a job created byNetScheduleJobAdd function.

    I have observed this behavior repeatedly. Is it a known PWA bug? Where would I find that documented? Or is it a bug in the local implementation?

    When using PWA with the timesheet option user update of %complete, actual start, and a few other fields is blocked, since the time-entry module handles all posting of actuals. This is necessary and understandable.

    However, if I zero-out the "Remaining Work" on an assignment with timephased planned Remaining Work, that planned work is automatically converted to Actual Work and an Actual Finish equal to the (planned) Finish is posted. Once that happens, I cannot fix it, since the system blocks me from changing any actuals.

    I have learned (through painful experience) to not zero out remaining work on assignments; I copy/paste the Actual Work to the "Work." This removes the planned without changing it to actual, and sets an actual finish equal to the last time the resource reported through the Timesheet module.

    Hi,

    We have a task that was started and time entered, approved and published via timesheet.  The task was put on hold so the remaining work was rescheduled with the "Reschedule uncompleted work" feature to a couple of months later.  The application filled in the gap with 0h in the Task Usage view.  The hold has been lifted and we want to reschedule it back.  No avail.  We tried to update the 0h in the Task Usage and we get the message reminding us that work should be updated in Timesheet or Task.

    We've been successful with other tasks to push them out and bring them back.  I just don't know what would lock a date range for a task thinking that the work was done even if it was 0h.

    Based on a recommendation in another forum I created an enterprise custom field on the project details page in order to create a custom filter for the projects list. However, when I go to create a custom filter my new custom field is not one of the available options.  Is it possible to do what I am attempting?

    I have setup a SharePoint list to capture basic project details. This SharePoint list is configured so that projects can be created in Project Server 2013 from the individual item,

    This works well like a charm, but what I am noticing as the list has grown it is allowing me to creating multiple projects from the same list item. I would like the system to stop or notify me if a project with the same list item name already exists in Project Server. Currently it is creating another project and automatically putting a number suffix to the Project Name in EPM.

    Is there anyway to stop the creation of the project in Project Server is the Project has already been created from the list item.

    I have created a custom field (Project level), "Project ID"

    When PM enters data in this field, this should be unique data, if it is not unique then prompt it as duplication.

    How can I achieve this? By setting any formula?

    Hi,

    When I create a Project via PWA, I Create New Project & enter Project Information details (such as: Project Name, Owner, Department, etc), it automatically publish the Project Schedule (I have selected "Project Plan Template" in Enterprise Project Types).

    I want, when I create a Project, it just save the Project Information details, but do not publish Project Schedule.

    How can I do it?

    Good Afternoon,

    I am working with our Client and we would like to create a project plan link that will open up the actual Project Plan in MS Project. Our goal is to have the Client to be able to click on this link and it will show the project in our enterprise view. I know that we are able to have the user access through PWA and view the Project Plan tasks there, but is there a better way for the user to do this in Project? We want to just provide the link and have the Project open up in a default saved view off the Enterprise Global format with the view/table already set. Can this be done? Or will the user have to navigate through PWA and open the project manually through there? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi I deleted a bunch of timesheet custom views but I am still able to find those in the drop down for views on timesheet page. I tried deleting and recreating the timesheet but still the same.

    Any help appreciated.

    I have a server application which needs to do an orderly termination. I also have a user who insists on controlling the application via Task Scheduler. (So running as a service is not an option. I already support running as a service, but this user doesn't want to use that mechanism).

    In Win Server 2008 R2, my console signal handler receives a CTRL_CLOSE_EVENT notification and I can cleanly terminate. However under Win Server 2012 all this now behaves very differently - particuarly if the application is executed by a batch script - and now I never receive any notification that I can detect. It appears the address space is simply destroyed.

    In Win Server 2012 and higher, how can I be notified that Task Scheduler intends to terminate my task? (BTW, I have searched extensively for documentation on how Task Scheduler terminates tasks, from a programming perspective, and I have been unable to find anything at all. If such documentation exists, I would very much appreciate a reference to it).

    After adding doc to project site there is no document icon in "project center", and no icons on project schedule level " exists. Tried to create new blank project, add docs to Documents library via WebApps, Send document feature, use new drag-n-drop feature, tried to link related file from library to project task but icon doesn't appear.

    Please help to resolve the issue.

    My mouse doesn't click and grab when playing solitaire. It's especially bad when playing spider, but now it's doing on Klondike. I've tried adjusting settings, but it hasn't fixed the problem.

    I realise that htis is not a server question, but there doesn't seem to be a category for standard Project.

    I have MSP 2010.  I am trying to run the Visual reports but am getting error messages.

    In 2010 I get the message this message "This operation requires that you have Excel 2003 or later installed on your computer".

    I have Excel from Office for Mac, and Excel 2013 windows version. So do not understand why it won't either initialise the Mac version or the windows version.

    We have one requirment where we need to convert one one exsting account to Generic from non-Generic, while doing the same need to remove User logon account , because with the same User logon account we have to create a new Non-Generic ID.

    I am not able to remove User logon account , after modifying and saving, when reopn the same account the changes are not happen and with the same User logon account not able to create a new ID.

    Kindly give me an Idea how I can do the same.

    The requirment is for MSPS 2010.

    Hi,

    I have created a Project Schedule Template & updated in Project Server 2013.

    I create a Project using that template, and then publish it to PWA (+ check in), but when I open same project from PWA, its formatting is vanished from Project schedule.

    Why it is? Or should I do something else to maintain its formatting?

    Hello everybody.

    I'm ordered to integrate Project server with Atlassian JIRA without using MS Project Professional, in other words, fully automatically. Tasks from Project Server must be exported into Jira, then Actual Works from Jira on this tasks must imported in Project Timesheets (we have Timesheets with single entry operation mode, we don't use Tasks page and task submitting only through Timesheets). Than this Timesheets send to approve.

    It's two stage. 1) export tasks to Jira and 2) import Actual Work to timesheet in same assignments. 

    I find some utilities and plug-ins for task creation in Jira, but no one work without Project Professional. Can somebody advise me an solution? The development to read data from the Project database will be long cause we havent Jira developers.

    And second, when I want import Actuals from external system to Timesheetsand simple write them in, is it even possible? I don't want write to DB directly, it is fraught with trouble. Need to find a PSI solution. In same time, I can't delete any created Timesheets, and we close past mounth timesheets for update. The developed operation must only set Actuals instead employee.

    Hi, I've created a communications plan custom list template and saved it to the list gallery. In searching online for instructions on how to select this list within my PWA project site (the SharePoint site associated with my project) I do not have an option under Web Designer Galleries for List Types (option to select from saved lists/list gallery). I also cannot find anywhere to upload a saved .stp file into my site. Any help is greatly appreciated.
