Zero-out Remaining Work in Project Server 2010 with SEM enabled, and Protect User Updates set to 'Only allow task updates via Tasks and Timesheets'

Hello All,

We are using Project Server 2010 +SP1 + Jun 2012 CU. We have following settings in our environment:

- SEM (Single Entry Mode) Enabled

- In "Task Settings and Display > Project User Updates" = we have Only allow task updates via Tasks and Timesheets" option checked.

What is the best way to zero out "Remaining Work" by Project Managers when the task is complete and there is some remaing work left on the assignments?. We asked "Team members" to update remaining work to 0 in timesheets and submit timesheet seems to not work always, and Project managers see different results based on the Project when they try to update in Project Pro, so, any ideas and appreciate any documentation on this topic with the setup we have in our environment.
