Is it best practice to create custom date fields at project level to track early stage events in the project (or to hold high level milestones that eg Finance enter and use) or do people recommend that All milestones should appear in the full plan? If so how do Non project savy people (eg Finance) best enter this info without opening up the the plan in the web browser or project professional?
If the former approach is used ie early stage milestones created at project level and follow on stage milestones created within the project schedule can that information be brought together in Excel Services reports as a single list of all milestones for the project?
