workflow tasks arenot showing approve reject buttons

Hello

I need help returning some modifications I hav done on workflow tasks in project online. I removed some unwanted fields and it changed everything. Now I can't see buttons for approve or reject a task !!! and I couldn't get it back to the way it was.

The screenshots show the difference

Hello All!

I'm trying to determine how to utilize the Project Online PPM reports; Deficits and Surplus Report and Requirements Detail report, and I'm having a hard time tracking down good explanations. I have the A. <g class="gr_ gr_128 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="128" id="128">Lavitsky</g> document, but I was hoping there was something more current and more detailed to help me balance these reports to determine how to staff projects. As always, any clues to the clueless are gratefully appreciated!

Subproject "Inserted Project Information" does not allow use of "Project Information" button

I can't seem to find anyone else having this issue, even though I poured all over the internet, as usual. 

Project 2010, Dec 2012 CU, issue is in both our Prod and Test environments.  (The test server has the same data (a couple months old) as our Prod server - the main difference is that PROD was upgraded from 2007 and the test server was a fresh 2010 install.)

We just recently enabled master projects on the system.  It's working fine, except for one issue - When you insert a linked project into the master project, then open the information dialogue, the "Project Information" button is greyed out and can't be selected.

It's definitely linked properly, and the button will flash when you first open it - like it might let you click it, but after a milisecond it goes grey and you can't mess with it.

The weird thing about this is that I was trying to record a macro to see if I could "force" my way into that dialogue, and suddenly the button became usable again - but only for a session.  I know that sounds insane, but there you have it.  So what could be happening that would cause this to be unselectable?  There might be some setting or preference somewhere, but if so, I can't find any mention of it either online or in any of my books.  My uber fear is that it has something to do with our Enterprise Global, which we've had to kick in the face a few times recently and I would really not like to rebuild it.  If I don't get any other suggestions from this post, I'll rebuild it on the test server and see where I get.

Help would be much appreciated.

Workflow transfers to the wrong stage !

Hi everyone,

my workflow is in a weird behavior. 

I have developed a sharepoint designer 2013 workflow for project online, and the normal flow is like this:

User 1 selects a value (yes/no) of a field in project online

stage 1 : assign task100 to user1

              if value= yes => go to stage 2

              if value= no=> go to stage 3

stage 2: assign task200 to user2 

             and whether they approve or reject => go to stage 3

stage 3: if user1 selects "NO"=> assign task300 to user3

 if user2 Approved his task200 => assign task400 to user3

if user2 Rejected his task200 => assign task500 to user3

Now in the transition stage:

if user3 Approved his task300 =>go to stage 4

if user3 Rejected his task300=>go to stage 1

if user3 Approved his task400 =>go to stage 4

if user3 Rejected his task400 =>go to stage 2

if user3 Approved his task500 =>go to stage 1

if user3 Rejected his task400 =>go to stage 2 (My PROBLEM IS HERE)

It always redirects me to stage 1 rather than stage 2!!!!!

Rest queries on ProjectOnline should use _API/ProjectData or _API/ProjectServer?

I've been trying to identify what is the correct way to get data from Project Online for some time now (I just want to get data, not update it). I can find documentation on ProjectData and a lot of examples using it. But it requires permission edition on the Project Online configuration.

I Barely can find any example or documentation for the ProjectServer and its endpoints seem to have fewer options than ProjectData.

Which one should be used to GET info from the ProjectOnline and why?

PWA 2010: How to transfer all pending timesheet approvals from a former manager into a new manager?

Hi everybody,

I'm the Project Server 2010 administrator and I need to transfer all pending Timesheet approvals from one manager's central into a second manager, so the second manager may evaluate them and approve/reject them. Anybody knows how? I hope that the solution is not to contact all employees in order for them to recall their timesheets, and re-send them to the new manager. I'm talking about a lot of pending timesheet approvals. As a note, I'm not looking on transferring pending project Status Updates nor pending Administrative tasks.

Approvals grid in PWA 2013 receives an exception for a user

I have a user that is no longer able to view their approvals from PWA 2013.  They are getting a General Unhandled Exception error instead.  Nothing is writing to the queue or the ULS logs when this occurs.  The message they are getting on the screen is "General Unhandled Exception in _Statusing.ReadStatusApprovalsForProjectForGridJson_".  Does anyone know how to fix this problem or identify what is causing it to occur?  There is no custom development at this time and everything is Out of the Box.  Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Capacity Line - PWA > Resource Center > Resource Availability

Hi,

here is an easy one... Can someone help refresh my memory... with regards to EPM version 2010, when in PWA > Resource Center > Resource Availability...

When toggling resources in the Resource Availability's legend, did the capacity line in the various histogram views adjust accordingly or was/ is it static?

In Project Online, with the Resource Request/ Engagement feature enabled I noticed that the capacity line does not adjust/ change (ie., it is static).  I could swear that it use to adjust in previous versions of PWA when I used to toggle the resource names within the legend of the PWA > Resource Center > Resource Availability views.  Please let me know.

Portfolio Analysis-Resource Role Custom Field

I want to be able to select a Custom Field that I have created called "Skill" (that uses a Custom Lookup Table also called Skill) in the "Role Custom Field" dropdown during the resource analysis portion of Portfolio Analysis; however, "Skill" is is not available. How do I make this available in the dropdown for selection.

when Turn in timesheet , we specify name whom we would like to let him approve our timesheet. But he can't get any timesheet for approval on his approval page. pls. suggest

SharePoint Project Summary Web Part inaccurate - Not showing late tasks

Anyone seen the problem of the Project Summary web part not showing accurate information?  There are 5 late tasks (shown correctly in the task list "Late Tasks" view).  But the PSWP only shows one late task and that is a parent task.  I have removed and re-added the web part.  Pointed it to another task list then back to the original.  SharePoint/Project Online connected site.  Everything else seems to work but something is not reading correctly from the connected task list.  No other forums seem to have seen this problem.

Connect Project Online or Project Pro/Server to Visual Studio Team Services

Hey Guys, we have gone head first into Visual Studio Team Services (Online) and have thus far been able to do everything we need to do.  I see that you can connect Power BI to VSTS, but have yet to be able to find a way to connect the data in VSTS to Project Online or Project Pro which our portfolio manager would very much like to be able to do. We aren't committed to any version of Project yet, so we're pretty flexible.

Can anyone here help me get started?  It seems like there must be a way to do this.

Resources Engagement in Project Server 2013

Hi all,

Our current resource engagement process only tracks project work allocation/forecast for resources using 'EPM Resource Plan' however, we also want to track the 'Resources forecast' for all non project work activities includes BAU, Initiatives, Ad-hoc.

Currently, in regards to timesheet actuals we create a 'Project name abc - timesheet task' and resources capture their actuals against that task within timesheet. This means that resources are not assigned at WBS level within the schedule just only a timesheet task get created within each project.

For tracking the non project work activities, I was thinking to introduce the Non Project Work schedule template to capture the resources forecast for non project work activities as per below with the default resource booking type as "Proposed" in schedule as I don't want task to be appear in resource MY Task, Existing Timesheet and New Timesheet views otherwise it conflicts with the existing process but it should appear in the Resource Assignments view so that data can reported using SSRS report. Can I change the enterprise resource booking with in the project schedule different to set in resource center or do you see any issues?

I would appreciate if you can share your experiences or recommendations and what do you think about above approach? Please help to provide your guidance on setting up the non project work schedule template e.g non project work project will created for each financial year, Should I set the tasks to fixed duration, non-effort driven and auto scheduled and what is the best way to allocate resources for non project work activity?

Reporting Database Duplicate Data Issue in Project Server 2013 - Only Multi-Lookup Table

Hi all,

Has anyone come across this duplicate values issue with the multi-lookup table? Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

Environment– Project Server 2013

[Business Manager_New] is multi-lookup project server custom field column

The only one value is selected by the user as per above screenshot for the project. However, the SQL query returns the duplicate values in EPM_ProjectWebApp.dbo.[MSPCFPRJ_Business Manager_New_AssociationView] table for this project. This issue is occurring for multiple projects and showing more than 1 duplicate records.

Troubleshooting Steps (Already Attempted)

  • Reporting Resync– Resolved the issue initially but issue came back after some time and then reporting resync is not fixing this issue again.
  • Created the new project server multi-lookup table column but no luck.
  • Tried publishing the project using MS Project and PWA.
  • Reopened the lookup, and tried to resaving it.

I'm currently looking for microsoft project server 2016 (2019) and Online certification, not an user certification like 70-348 but a technical one (How to configure and so on) and I'm looking for the same for Server 2016 (or 2019 will be better)

Any idea if these formation exist?

Hey.

I have setup a Microsoft Project 2016 Server, but if i  try and create a new project via the ms project site collection like "http://MySharePointSite/sites/MSProjectPWA/_layouts/15/pwa/Wizards/CreateProject.aspx?src=GettingStarted#{"stage":1,"eptUid":"09fa52b4-059b-4527-926e-99f9be96437a"}", it just returns the error "GeneralInvalidColumnValue" to the UI" and 

the ULS Log states

If i create a new project from Ms project from office or i import it it works fine.

I also get errors other places, like if i try and access "Additional Server Settings" i get a cultural error in the ULS Log
