    Hi ,

    I am having project server 2010 and SharePoint 2010.

    Right now we are showing project server  information in sharepoint2010 as a custom webpart.which is stored in SQL.

    We are planning to migrate to project server Online and SharePoint 2013 online.

    WITH OUT SQL DATABASE HOW CAN I SHOW THE PROJECT SERVER DATA IN SHAREPOINT ONLINE.

    CAN YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

  • Hi All,

    We will be upgrading our AD to a recent version. We have synced our Project Server 2010 with the AD. I had a question that if my AD is migrated to a newer version will my Resource UIDs change or will there be a duplication of the existing users? AS per our AD team, the GUIDs and SSIDs wont change.

    Kindly guide.

    Hey,

    I made changes in default column values of task by using following steps:

    1. Progress entered in Tasks, resource submits progress
    2. Nothing happens in project at this point
    3. If a timesheet is created afterwards, it will contain this updates
    4. Status Manager approves Status Update
    5. Change is visible in edit mode only in project
    6. Status Manager publishes the plan (by opening project or in Approval - History - Status Updates, selecting updates and click in Publish)
    7. Changes are also visible in view mode in project

    Changes are reflecting in Project By using these steps But when i'm making changes in custom field,They are not reflecting So please suggest how i can change value of custom field in project from task.

    Hello,

    We have a problem with Enterprise custom fields when they are configured with Graphical indicators ,


    Issue:-

    The problem here appears when we populate these ECF with information (Text) through PDP's ,inserted information does not appear in project center views if the project is published from the PWA, and it appear only when the project is published from MS Project. 

    affected ECF Design :-

    We have a plenty of ECF connected with lookup tables and is created with graphical indicators. 

    status lookup table:-

    Contains values like : Red , Amber and Green

    Conclusion:-

    It works when there is no Graphical indicators in the Enterprise custom fields

    Repro 1:-

    1-     Creating an Enterprise custom field

    2-     Without Graphical indicators and values to display “Data”

    3-     Add the Enterprise custom filed into a PDP

    4-     Go to a project and edit the PDP and inset some text

    5-     Save and publish from PWA

    Result:-

    After publishing from PWA In the custom Project status view enterprise custom field is populated with the right information “Test”

    Repro 2:-

    1.       Creating an Enterprise custom field
    2.       With Graphical indicators
    3.       Link with a look table that has more than one choice
    4.       Add the Enterprise custom filed into a PDP
    5.       Go to a project and edit the PDP and inset some text
    6.       Save and publish from PWA

    Result:-

    • After publishing from PWA the custom Project status view enterprise custom field is not populated with the Graphical indicators
    • But when publishing from MS Project, the view is populated with the Enterprise custom field data “text”

    Repro 3:-

    2.       Without Graphical indicators and values to display “Data”
    3.       Link with a look table that has more than one choice
    4.       Add the Enterprise custom filed into a PDP

    Problem is reproduced when using Enterprise Custom Field with Graphical indicators and then publish from PWA

    Hi All,

    I have created a Site and List Workflow using SharePoint designer 2013, its a simple list workflow with one stage init on creating an item.

    When i verified the status of workflow its showing as initiator = Anonymous and Internal Status - Not started. Please a screen shot below

    after create the project, i want any update of project information from project details page to be work under workflow.

    i mean if any changes on project information such as (budget, contract start and end , project name ... etc.) by project manager to take approval from audit Committee.

    what is the best approach and what is the best practice to do this?

    Is there a way in Project Center in Project Online to either

    • Make the the master and subprojects the same color

    or

    • Group The Master and subproject together

    This is very useful when you have multiple Master and subprojects and you want to tell which projects belong together on the gantt chart in the Project Center View.

    Hi,

    Can anyone send me the Timesheet process steps in Project Server 2013?

    1. I would like to set someone else as my timesheet manager but while creating a user when i click browse button in timesheet manager field i do not see any resources.

    2. Timesheet is automatically approved by default, to change that process i enabled Require line approval before timesheet approval option in server settings - timesheet settings and defaults. After doing this i submitted my timesheet, it shows the status" your timesheet has been sent to "usernamel" for approval. The user himself is the timesheet manager, When i click on Approvals option nothing is available. How to approve it?

    Please help.

    Is there a forum which explains the process of timesheet.

  • I use Project Server 2013.

    I would like to generate a Resource Usage report using the OLAPPortfolioAnalyzer which is located in the "analytics" section of reports. I am able to see the report in Excel but it doesn't open a template in Excel. That means I cannot drag and drop the fields in the Pivot Table Area. Instead I am restricted to six fields.

    It seems as if I am missing a step as this is the case with the other reports. What do I do so that I can select fields from the full list for my pivot table, in order to generate a comprehensive report?

    Hi All,

     I am facing an issue with MSP 2010 when importing hyperlinks from an excel file.

    Every hyperlink gets cut-off after the 00

    This is how it imports in MSP:

    Can someone help explain.

    Hi All,

    In project server 2013 timesheet, there is an option "Send Progress for All Tasks to send the task update. If we fill the timesheet with some actual hours and select the option Send Progress for All Tasks” , nothing is happening. It is not updating the task progress in the task page or not submitting the update to the PM. What is the function of this option, is there is any dependency.

    Hello Everyone !! 

    There is Three tier environment(App server, DB Server , Web Server) of Project Server .  

    On the site have custom list and default list. When I am trying to modify the view (like removing any column or adding any column in the view), I am getting “Cannot complete this action”  error.

    I have disable the "Minimal Download Strategy feature" feature also as suggested in the link

    but still the same issue exist. There is no correlation ID coming.

    Please suggest, how to resolve this error.

    Hello everybody,

    I’ve got the following problem. I deleted a couple of custom field in PWA, which I first created. When I open up a Project Prof. I can still choose these fields, when I add a new column. I deleted the cache in Project Professional, I also checked the Project server databank in SQL Management Studio, in the table [MSP_CUSTOM_FIELDS] the fields are not there. Generally the fields should not be seen in the Project Prof. Does anyone know what can be source for custom fields, is there other tables in SQL databank which I can check, whether these fields are there or not?

    Dear all,

    for a SSRS report i would like to display the date when baseline0 was last updated for a project. Researching this forum and the internet led to the columns MOD_DATE and CREATED_DATE in table MSP_TASK_BASELINES in draft or published database.

    However, comparing the dates received from these database fields doesn't deliver the same information as indicated in Project client in the baseline creation form. My expectation would be to find exactly the dates indicated there in the database too. Am i missing something?

    Project Server 2010 - I have a PWA time entry approver (PM) who approved quite a few tasks, only to have them all process and then a ACCESS DENIED error showed on screen.  One task shows on the HOME screen as needing to be approved, but when going to approval center the ribbon is all greyed out and no task appears.  We have tried to change the data range for approvals and still nothing.  I know this was an issue several years ago, but do not recall how to resolve the issue.  Thanks for any help you can give.

    So I found quite an annoying bug or issue with Project Server or Project Online. When I add a calendar exception to an EnterpriseResource and I check the resource back in, I can verify the calendar exception was added and saved for my EnterpriseResource.

    I would expect that projects where this EnterpriseResource is assigned to a task, that the schedule is updated accordingly and delayed. In Project Server Online, it still shows the schedule of the project as it would be before I added the CalendarException to my EnterpriseResource.

    When I open the project using MS Project 2013 SP1, I see the schedule is updated in the project. When I publish and check in the project and then refresh the page of the project's schedule in Project Online, the schedule is finally updated with the delay.

    Is this a bug? As far as I know it shouldn't be happening and require me to check out, publish and check in my projects to see the change in Project Server...
