Has anyone calculated IRR - Internal Rate of Return for a project in Project Server.

Can you please share / guide on how to build this formula as Project Server does not come with default function for this.

Hi,

In Project Server 2013, when I open PWA I see some of the projects in Project Center come under "Project Status: Draft". It is grouped by Project Status.

What does it mean?

It is published already then why it shows as Project Status Draft?

I have tried to force the check in of the page but returns na error "Sorry, something went wrog". The technical details dos not help at all and it does not appear as um unsuccessful or even successful job at "Manage Queue Jobs" > PWA Settings.

Would you please help with this issue?

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to create a recurring task inside another recurring task.

Can you manually change a task to a recurring task?

Thanks and regards,

Edit/Customize Existing PDP

Using PS 2013

I have created a PDP "Opportunity" by adding WebPart --> Project Web App --> Basic Info --> Displayed Project Fields --> and added some custom fields.

I want to customize the layout of existing PDP "Opportunity" in InfoPath Form Designer 2013.

Or any other tool that can customize PDP ?

Thanks,

Baseline information cleared from the project

After importing a project file to Project Online and publishing it, everything looked fine. but a few days later some of the Baseline data cleared form the project.

Baseline Start and Baseline Finish columns keep the values but Baseline cost and all time-phased data  such as BCWS is showing 0

nothing particularly change on the project except some progress updates and a few date changes by user.

As this happens on Online server I can not investigate logs etc.

Any idea what  could be the reason?

Project Server 2010 and IE11 on Windows 7

Hello All,

We are working with server 2010 and SP1. Few of users are updated their browser to IE 11 over Windows 7.

When they export project center information by clicking button "Export to Excel" it exports project center data to excel successfully but when they try to export resource availability report of any resource they are getting following error

"Could not open //syncss.systar.com/pwa/_layouts/pwa/RM/ResAvailability.aspx"

Also I tried to export report by setting compatibility mode to IE 9 but received same error

I heard that there are some issues with Project Server 2010 and IE 11 and I think that officially it's not supported.

I would like to know:

1. Are there known issues?

2. Is IE11 support project server 2010?

3. Is a hotfix/CU/SP release to resolve this issue?

When I search on this issue I got following hotfix link to resolve this issue

 Hotfix KB2880531 for Project Server 2010 September 9, 2014 (Pjsrvwfe-x-none.msp)
Link is "support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2880531"

According to this hotfix they fixed following issues

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  •     Assume that you log on to Project Web App by using Windows Internet Explorer 10 or a later version. When you try to export the resource availability information by using the Export to Excel function on the Resource Availability page, the function does not work.
  •     Assume that you edit a project on the Project Details page. When you change a property such as the name, the value of the Cost field of material resources may be changed to $0.00.

Also, please advice whether this hotfix is correct or not.

Kailas

Create Project in PWA function available in a SP List for Idea Management take "Start Date" from a Project Template inside the selected Enterprise Project Type, and not from a "Proposed Start" date mapped in the List Setting as field to populate the new project.

Select from Existing Assignments - gives error

0
0

We have  Project Server 2013 environment on-prem.

Recently a couple of users started getting the following error when trying to add an assignment to their Timesheet -

When i check the ULS logs i am unable to find anything with that correlation ID. The only thing i can think of is that these resources have a lot of tasks assigned to them (I am talking about 1000's). I went ahead and closed a lot of these tasks that were completed, but still continue to get this message.

I have deleted timesheets and recreated them, but that hasn't helped. If the manager "pushes" this tasks to the timesheet, it works fine - the resource is able to update and submit tasks just fine.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Creating OData connection for PWA error

0
0

Posting here is my last resort; I have researched the error that I'm getting, and I have found other posts about it. I have tried the solutions listed in those posts, but I am still getting an error that I simply cannot figure out.

My company has just obtained a trial for Project Server 2013, and I am in charge of learning the features before we make the move to do the full purchase. At the top of my priority list is learning how do use some of the reporting features. In researching this subject, I choose to delve deeper into creating OData connections out of my project instances.

I am able to create the data feed in Excel and get to the Table Import Wizard where it allows me to "Select Tables and Views." I want to select the Tasks view, and so I do. When I click "Preview & Filter," I am able to see all of the fields that are available, including the enterprise custom fields that I created in PWA. Here is where I run into the problem. When I click Finish, I get the following error:

"The following exception occurred while the managed IDataReader was being used: The content of the data feed is not valid for Atom feed..The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed"

One of the sources I looked at said that custom fields might be similar to the Reserved Words, so pulled up the list and none of my custom fields clash with the reserved words. I even took all spaces out of my fields and added unique numbers to them to further differentiate, but I am still receiving the same error message when trying to import the Tasks into the pivot table.

I am at a complete loss as to how to get the Tasks to import properly. Anyone have any suggestions?

Project Server 2013 - Cannot change project owner

0
0

Hi,

I am having difficulty changing the project owner for a particular project.

Full permissions have been granted to the new project owner on the project. When I change to the new owner in the project PDP and select save, it saves but when I go back to project center and check, the old owner is still assigned.

When I try to change the project owner on other projects it works OK.

What could be the problem? How can I fix?

Thanks
