I am using Project Server 2013. I want to add a BISM connection to the Project BI Center data connections library.

When I go the data connections library settings, BI Semantic Model is not listed under content types.
I click on Add from existing site content types, and BISM is not listed.
Under server/pwa Site Settings->Manage site features, PerformancePoint Services Site Features and SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features are Activated.
Under server/pwa Site Settings->Site collection features, PerformancePoint Services Site Features and SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features are Activated.
Under server/pwa/projectbicenter Site Settings->Manage site feature, PerformancePoint Services Site Features and SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features are Activated.

I have searched a good bit on this topic, but steps 3-5 seem to resolve the issue for most people. Does anyone know what else I should check?

Timer job missing in PS 2013

When you setup AD Resource Pool Sync in Project 2013 it should create a timer job that fires off every 24 hours. You should now be able to modify the time as which it will start.

The issue is 3 of my 6 sites have a timer job which can be modified and the other 3 have no timer jobs which show up in Central Admin.

Any ideas why they would not have been created?

PWA show message:

I check for open project with admin rights. Project does not have blank rows. I am not able to edit the project in MSP. I run the browser in IE10 compatible mode, and this not help me.

Project 2013 Header and Footer Overlaps Border

This is driving me crazy - I know that to adjust the content of the header and footer in project you do so in Print > Page Setup.

However, this places both header and footer overlapping with the border and I cannot figure out how to move adjust that. I have tried a few tricks like changing font size and simply using enter but no luck....

I am sure there must be an obvious solution to this - can someone please help!

I am trying to do a install of Project Server 2013, and get this error in the application event log following pwa provisioning;

I created on projects related dashboard with graphical chart .

Our top mangers need to see the indicator whether the project document is uploaded or not through SSRS reports.
How to check if the document is uploaded or not ?

I can see the icon in the project center but I need to see the same in custom dashboard.

Hi there,

I recently upgraded our sharepoint and project server from 2003 to 2013 SP1. After a lot of digging, searching and nerves consumend, i realized that the old Data Analysis is gone forever. On another post, i asked how i could report the timesheet, and i was told that the closest thing to Data Analysis is OLAP Cube Reporting.

Now i configured the OLAP Cube in Sharepoint, and it works on a daily basis without error, i also added the Business inteligence subsite, but i can't for the life of me find the OLAP Timesheet Reports anywhere, not in Data Connections, not in Reports, not anywhere. I couldn't find anything on Microsoft's websites or other forums, so i have no idea how to make these Timesheet reports function.

Can someone show me step by step from the beginning how can i get reports on Timesheet using OLAP Cubes? (Work, Actual Work, etc.)

Hello all,

I am writing out an event when a project site gets deleted from within PWA, under server settings, then in Project Sites. In the tabs there, the 4th one is Delete Site. I am trying to find which Project Server Event Handler I can override to put in my code when a user clicks on that "Delete Site." I tried in event handler in "Project: WssWorkspaceAddressDeleted" since this event gets hit when in Project Sites and clicking on "Edit Site Address", then clicking on option "Remove the URL for the SharePoint site."

Does anyone know which event if any gets called which I can add my code to when a project site gets deleted from the "Project Site" page? This is for Project Server 2010.

Hi,

yesterday we wanted to set up a new project. We usually use dummy resources with real cost rates to set up a project. Then we replace the local dummy resources by “real” server resources.
Unfortunately the work and cost were changed.

Observation:

When we replace local resources by Server resources by Import assistant and we use exactly the same resources (equal Name) then unit is not changed only when I replace for example the dummy resource by a real resource/ another resource then the unit and work is changed.

We always set up projects the same way and I never had such an issue.

Example 1: DE UC Installation (in local schedule)will be replaced by Tomek, Andre -> work, cost, unit is changed
Example 2 : Example: DE UC Installation (in local schedule)will be replaced by DE UC Installation (Server resource) -> nothing changed
Example 3: Resource Agnieszka Kot (local) will be replaced by Kot, Agnieszka (enterprise resource) -> work, cost, unit is changed

Could you help? What we should do.

Hello Forum,

We are working in Project Server 2010. We have default rates set for our Resources. However, these rates can change depending on contract negotiations. On a new project, we are trying to change a Resource's cost to reflect the contracted amount. In the Resource Sheet View, we double-click on the Resource, and get the Resource Information window. We go to the Costs tab, select the Effective date (start of the project), change the Standard and Overtime Rates to the new contracted value, click OK to save/close the window. Then, we Save the entire project (waiting for the "Save Completed" message), and Publish the entire project (waiting for the "Publish Completed" message). The new rates hold and show up in the project.

When we close the project, we get the message confirming if we want to Save or Discard Changes and Check-In the project. We Discard them (because we already saved/published the new rates). When we re-open the project, the new contracted rates are gone, and the rates have reverted back to the default values. We've tried re-saving and re-publishing when we get the message confirming if we want to Save/Discard Changes. Doesn't work. How do we make permanent cost rate changes on a project for a Resource?

Currently I am Using MSP 2010 Pro 64-Bit on the MSP Server. I have uploaded a file that is 144MB and when 32-Bit users try to access the program, it checks the file out, then closes the file without opening. When other 64-Bit users access the file, they can and have no issues.

Need to automate resource creation in PPM

I am working on Project Server 2013 and we are actually trying to automate the resource set up in PPM.

We usually get a excel sheet with all new resources who need to be set up in PPM, but setting up resources one by one takes away lot of productive time, hence we are trying to automate the resource creation process.

Looking for some automation such that the solution fetches the resources details from an excel/csv file and creates resources in PPM. And schedule this automation once in a week (Off business hours).

Can you pls suggest/guide if anyone has come across such a requirement? Looking for a detailed solution.

I have team member access in Project Server 2007, i tried to create a timesheet for a particular week.

If i click on "Click to create" option in My Timesheet page, nothing happens. It stays in the same page.

This is the issue occurs only for me.

Can anyone suggest me what could be the cause of this issue?

Hi,

Still learning by doing here. Hope someone can help me with these questions.

I would like to create a view in project center which shows the level of which the projects support the strategic business drivers. I.e. Project A has is rated low against driver B, moderate against driver C and extreme against driver d. Is it possible to create enterprise custom fields which retrieves the BusinessDriverNames and the projects ratings against them?
Can I show which workflow phase the project is currently in in the project center? I know I can add activities from the project plan, but I want to see the workflow phases.
This question may be more for the Excel 2013 forums, but I am trying to create KPIs in a statusreport made in PowerView. KPIs are dependant on using calculated fields although I just want to create a simple traffic light based on thresholds of the CPI, SPI, Risk exposure etc. How can I create such a traffic light in the power view report which also changes based on the project you choose in the report?
