Send Timesheet button Greyed

Dear All,

We are using Project Server 2010 SEM. The resource was able to Send timesheets before applying the SP2. After applying SP2, some resources have the Send Timesheet button greyed out.

Do I need to publish all the projects, because recently we had migrated to a new server? Could the publishing of projects cause this issue?

Hi After applying CU June 2015, Everytime someone sends status, the systems sends the status for the whole month. Even if the previous days have been approved and there has been no changes to the previously approved time.

Hi

Can someone please tell me how to count the Project Server CALs being consumed for Project Server 2013 On Premise for both Project Server mode of permissions and SharePoint mode of permissions. There used to be this query in Project Server 2010 which would give the list of users who consume a CAL

Is there some equivalent query in Project Server 2013 On Premise. I searched in the forum but most of the time the response given was to consult Microsoft Representative. I really want to know how to do that math without having to go to Microsoft Rep. 

MS Project Pro/Server 2010 Locking up on "Links Between Projects" window

We have a large program with multiple schedules and multiple external links between projects.  When we open a project with external links and has the option under Advanced-->Cross Project Linking Options for this project-->"Show links between projects dialogue box on open" checked/turned on, MS Project Pro 2010 locks up on the "Links Between Projects in xxxx" window.  Can't hit "close" or "all" or anything else.  Just locks up and have to got to Windows Task Manager to close it.  Anyone seen this before?  Any ideas?  If the "Show links between projects dialogue box on open" is not checked, the schedule will open even if it has external links.  Problem is, since that is tied to the project and not a general setting that applies to all projects, we can't change it on projects that lock up because we can't get to the options.

The title says it all!  Project Server 2010 version,

The fields don't appear in EPM Task or EPM task user view?  Any ideas?

Hi Sir,

We are using 192.168.1.0/24 network. We configured DHCP scope for this network.

I want to increase number of hosts from 254 to 400. To this i have to create any new scope with new different network or we can do any subnetting for this network.

Please give a suggestion and tell me the process of subnetting.

I get a Correlation ID: ff67209d-4085-6038-5114-9caae448a398 error when I try to convert some of my Project Ideations to a project. This does not happen on all of the projects.

Bulk Update Project Sites - Queue Jobs Failing - WSSWebIsNotUnderDefaultCollection

In a multi-PWA instance farm, I've just refreshed ONE instance from production following best practices (restored the ContentDB and 4 PWA databases).  Now, I am receiving many queue errors attempting to run the Bulk Update Project Sites process. I've restarted the database refresh process several times to ensure I was following it correctly, but each time I get the following errors when running the Bulk Update Project Sites process (one for each project site):

  • Web is not a child of the default site collection:
    • WSSWebIsNotUnderDefaultCollection (18003). Details: id='18003' name='WSSWebIsNotUnderDefaultCollection' uid='303f7bf0-1511-4838-a49e-b421c6fe80f0' projectUID='9e697b50-af23-4167-82e6-feae7c481946' wssFullUrl='http://us1sxwn00073/PWA/New Age'. 

I'm not really certain how to interpret this error.  On one hand, all the project sites are ALREADY configured to point to the correct URL, prior to attempting to Bulk Update Project Sites. On the other hand, I'm getting errors trying to add project site Issues/Actions/Risks list items using the JavaScript NewItem2 command (references the site URL) that make me think the two could possibly be related? 

"The web application at [production site URL/pwa] could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

Is there any possibility that the two issues could be related?

Project Sites in PWA 2013

I have created a project directly in PWA 2013 - during the process I did not see an option to create the project site.  After, I opened the schedule in MS Project Pro 2013 to utilize the Publish function to create the project site.  No site was created.  I tried this twice....

I am creating a proof of concept in Project Server 2013 for a customer.  They are already using Sharepoint 2013 for document sharing, collaboration rooms and meeting management in projects. Now they would like to see what PS2013 can bring to the table. They are very interested in the reporting cabapilities as they are wasting time on a lot of manual updating of Excel spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations etc.  I am still a bit new to the product so there are some things I am struggling to solve.

One of the requirements is to have a monthly statusreport. In this the report you have your time and costs (which will be derived from them updating necessary fields in Project Pro). They also have some other data which is:

- Capacity [red, yellow, green] (do they have enough capcacity to deliver)?

- Stakeholder engagement [red, yellow, green] (is the project well enough anchored with stakeholders?)

- Risk level [red, yellow, green]

- The Quality level in the project [red, yellow, green]

- Risks (list of the 3-4 most critical risks)

All of this is put in manually in a ppt today  and there are no calculation behind the status they put in. It is an overall evaluation by the PM from report to report.

So how to implement this in project server? The built in status report is fine, but I don’t think that will help me here since it only supports sections of multiple text fields. I would also want the statuses to be visible in project center and in reports. Should a PDP be created where they choose the status in custom fields with lookup tables? Can it be done from the project site?

How do you recommend reporting on these statuses on a monthly basis?

Project Server 2013-Tasks updates not replicating on schedule page

Hi,

We have updated the custom fields data in MyTasks.aspx page, but those changes are not updating on Schedule.aspx page evnthough those tasks are approved.

Getting below error when i try to upload offline project plan to project server 2010

I tried many ways like Project wizard, File --> Save As and imported XML format but no luck

“Project Workflow Check-in” job got stuck in the queue

Dears,

We have done a project server 2010 implementation with a custom workflow, in the workflow, we have created a custom activity  to check-in the project when needed, the custom activity calls QueueCheckInProject method for an instance created from Microsoft.Office.Project.Server.WebServiceProxy.Project class, calling this method will create a queued job “Project Checkin” in the project server queue, along with other job “Project Workflow Check-in”.

Our problem is: sometimes, the “Project Workflow Check-in” job got stuck in the queue, with Processing status and completion percentage 0%, and other project related jobs will stuck in the “waiting for processing” status, we could not determine the scenario, and we could not know why is happening? or even what is this job for? and what created it?

Restarting the queue service will solve the problem for the stuck jobs, but the scenario might occur again,

Any help will be appreciated,

Microsoft Project 2010 SubProject/Master Project Crashing after Save

I currently have a master project schedule loaded onto project server consisting of 16 subprojects. I recently added another subproject to the master and wanted to remove that particular subproject. For some reason, when I unlink it and try to save the master project, MS Project freezes and crashes (not responding) message. I've tried mutliple times, the method I used to unlink the project was by right click on the subproject>information>advanced>uncheck link to project>OK. After this, deleting the subproject itself and then finally hitting Save causes the whole master plan to crash. Does anyone know the cause of this? I also tried removing any dependencies they might have been linked to, but to no avail. My master project has been crashing each time and I need to remove this subproject. Help!

Hi, I sort of think it's going to be NO but just in case, can you supress the "Manager" field in the properties dialog that appears from within Project when you go File - Info - Project Information - Advanced Properties? Thanks.

Cannot Change the Start Date of a Task after Resource has Reported Time to it

My company uses Project Server 2010.  I would like to change the start date of a task on my project plan but after a resource has reported time to the task I cannot.  Why is this?  Am I doing something wrong?
