Hi,

We have created one project plan template in Project Server 2013 in which we are using two custom view and showing both view on screen (one in upper part and other one in  bottom part); We saved this as project template and attached to one EPT on Project server.

After creating project based on this EPT, we are not able to see same view at mpp end. Ideally after creating project from Project server we should be able to see both views after opening project from mpp as well. Please help to find out the reason..

does someone know, in which situation it is possible that a team member looses by project manager accepted hours ? 

Situation in Project Server and project plan:

a team member has a task with planned work for him

he booked some hours on his task

he saved the task and submitted it

The project and/or status manager accepted the hours.

--> the team member doesn't see his hours in EPM

--> the project plan doesn't contain the hours

Hello,

can someone explain why the planned workwill automatically increasewhenmoving to a later end date of a sub task?

We haveproject managerswho are planning the workforresourcesinthe parentprocesses. In my screen shot, I have planned 1 hour for the testuser from 05/18/2015 till 05/22/2015 in the parent task. (screenshot 1)

If I change the end date of the sub task from 05/22/2015 to 05/29/2015 the planned work changes from 1 hour to 80 hours. WHY? (screenshot 2)

I have another question: why is thesignature of sub taskred?

Hello Experts,

My project workflow was working fine until the data moved from one server to other. Now I am getting a strange issue in case of Workflow as described below :

Whenever the users try to create a new project the workflow stage shows as "The workflow is still processing. refresh the page and try again".

And when i check the Additional workflow Data the status is "Cancelled" with below Error info :

       "System.ApplicationException: HTTP 401 {"x-ms-diagnostics":["3001000;reason=\"There has been an error authenticating the request.\";category=\"invalid_client\""

This is happening with most of the users, when they try to create project. Few users are able to create project successfully.

I tried following trouble shooting, but none of it helped so far :

1. I deleted all users in user profile service app

2. Restarted the user profile service and user profile sync service

3. Did a full Profile synchronization in user profile app

4. Verified the users in the user profile app

5. Did a complete active directory resource pool sync in the PWA

6. Verified the users in the PWA

7. Restarted the Project server service

8. Restarted the Workflow timer Service

9. Did an IIS Reset

Still no use of any of these steps. My users still get the same error while creating new projects.

Please help me solve this issue.

I am trying to create a report that defines which security groups users are in and I can only find references to 2010 online?

Is there is simple query that will bring back the results?

Any help or pointers would be great...

I have a two part question

1 -- I have a pwa that currently exists, where can i find the name of the pwa db it is associated with?

2 -- can the pwa db and the sc that is hosting it be the same database?

Hi All,

Deployed and tested a workflow in Project Server 2013 Environment.

I am trying to delete/remove it. i couldn't find a place unlike in PS 2010 in Farm Solutions.

Tried the below two locations and couldnt succeed!!

PWA Site Settings > Solutions
PWA Site Settings > Workflow Settings

Is there any other place apart from deleting from the SP Designer ?

I am creating a OData data feed connection in excel 2013 wid url "_api/ProjectData" to create a power pivot report....but when i deploy...and click on any filter or drop down etc...i get this error "We cannot locate a server to load the workbook Data Model"...
I searched but didnt find anything all posts are related to SSAS permission and settings....
Please help..need to get it done....

Hello everyone,

I currently have admin permissions in Project Server. All the permissions are set to Allow, both in the Group and at the Categories level. I have access to all views as well. However, I've found out that there are some project that I can't see and my co-worker can.

So, if I set myself as her delegate I can see the projects (6 in total that I've been able to find out so far), but otherwise I can't see them, no matter which view I use for Project Center.

I've tried adding myself to the exact same groups that she has, with the same categories and the same RBS value. I've even added myself as a resource to the project and assigned myself to the same department as hers. But still nothing.

All of this is in Project Server 2013 and I'm out of ideas now. I also checked the permissions at the project level (through the Project Permissions button in the ribbon) and added myself there, but still nothing. Could there be something else affecting my access to these projects?

Hi All,

I got a question regarding my project schedule.

For one of my projects we have to work during the summer holiday. So i made a copy of my enterprise project calendar, deleted the summer holiday. And called this calendar the overtime summer 2015 calendar.

I set this calendar for the entire project. I didn't the change the resource calendar because i also got other projects where they not work during the summer holiday.

So for the tasks wich should find place during the holiday I changed the taskcalendar to the overtime summer 2015 calender and ignored the resource calendar by scheduling. 

When i publish the project schedule and i want to see in the resource capacity the work i planned during the summer holiday, the work is not visible and the holiday period is still blank. But when i check a resource graph in project 2010 the planned work is visible during the summer holiday. 

Does somebody know a solution or explanation for the difference in the resource capacity in Microsoft Project 2010 and the PWA(project server).

I hope you could help me.

Hi All,

I got serveral projects, with a lot of resources. I plan my resources on there role. My resources work on several projects.

For example:

I got 12 resources with the same role. For all the projects I got three resources. All my resources shared the same calendar.

Project A 3 resources

Project B 3 resources

Project C 3 resources

Project D 3 resources

But we need to catch up with project A, so we have decided we need to work during the summer holiday.

I took the following steps:

1. Made a copy of the project calendar. Removed the holiday and named it: 'Work summer 2015 calendar'. I added this calendar to project A.

2. For all tasks which I want to take place during the holiday I changed the task calendar from none to: Work summer 2015 calendar. After setting the task calendar, I checked the box ignore resource calendar with schedulling. 

For so far the work is planned in the holiday like i wanted to. After checking a resource graph in Microsoft Project 2010 the work is also planned during the holiday. 

After publishing the project to the project server and checking te resource center, the work I planned for the holiday wasn't visible in the resource center views. After some testing I gues the views availiable in the resource center based there calculations and there graphics on the resource calendar.

Is there a posibility to plan work during the holiday without changing the resource calendar because I only want that the resources of project A work trough the holiday.

I hope you guys could help me with this.

Hello,

On Project 2007 (12.0.6607.1000) SP3 MSO (12.0.6718.5000)

I am having an issue where a project will have a task/milestone showing 100% complete in MS Project, but in PWA under Resource Center, the task will show 0%. 

The resources are manually adjusting their % Complete and % Work Complete to 100% when finished. For my purposes, I am only interested in trackingmilestones for 100% completeness.

Searched online but the only solutions I've seen are for Project 2003.

Any help would be appreciated.

Error in the sum of the row summary of a set of tasks

In my project, I created a custom field but this error is its own field of tool.


The summary row of the tasks not performed correctly the sum of the tasks she has.
the sum of the hours must be the sum of all in the field of "planned work".
The "Baseline work" is a defined field project2010 when you first save the file hours "work" pass "Work schedule"

A representation of how the file is displayed to show you is this which is the picture of error, since I can not attach a picture of the incident:

              Tasks Name      - Baseline Work - Work      - Actual Work 
Task ... Sumary nnnnnn - 0 hours           - 45hours - 0 hours       
           Task1 nnnnnn ... - 10 hours         - 5hours   - 0 hours       
           Task2 nnnnnn ... - 4 hours           - 10hours - 0 hours       
           Task3 nnnnnn ... - 4 hours           - 10hours - 0 hours       
           Task4 nnnnnn ... - 2 hours           - 10hours - 0 hours       

The baseline work is work that is stored in the field when you are introduced to first work on a task and pressing then you save and publish. Working hours are saved baseline work.

In the planned work of the summary row times appear to zero when the internal tasks of the summary task should add 20 hours.

Hi,

I am working on Project Server 2013.

I have more than 70 projects in server, Team members use "Tasks" option to update their tasks(No Timesheet).

Instead of "Hours of work done per period", team members use "% complete" option to update their tasks.

Is that possible to enable these two options for different projects? i.e. For few projects I need team members to update their tasks using "Hours of work done per period" and for few the other option "% complete"

Hi,

I have projects in Project Server 2010(with all actuals entered), I would like to move those projects manually to Project Server 2013.

Those projects are interdependent between the other projects, if I save the project locally and upload it to server 2013, will the data and link, resource assignment change?

Please send me the best practice steps.

Hello,

I can not find how to add cost and material resources to a Resource plan.

When I want to add resources from the resource center to the resource plan the cost and material resourecs are not visisble. In the UI however you can choose All/work/cost/Material. So the impression is made that it should be possible

When  building a team for the project plan they are available.

Does anybody know?
